The Bowls
The
bowls are turned using traditional woodturning techniques
using locally sourced timber for the natural edge bowls and
from specialist timber yards from around the world for the
other styles. The bowls are oiled to maintain their natural
tactile feel, using an organic food safe, citrus oil (instead
of a lacquer or vanish which creates a membrane feel over
the surface). |

shapes and forms that appear in many of the contemporary
style magazines are used to provide inspiration for the
style of the bowls. |
The
Person
I studied as a mathematician and began my first career creating computer
systems in the city. This lasted for nearly 20 years. I now love creating
wooden bowls by hand using traditional woodturning techniques, using wood
sourced from the Chiltern Hills and specialist timber yards from around
the world. The end result is something very tactile and unique. |
